| Description: | Chief Engineer Hurtless kept watch at the Ballville Dam as the waters of the swollen Sandusky River welled up behind the concrete retaining wall. He predicted the wall would crumble under the water's pressure by evening, March 25. The water broke through at 10:10 A.M. Water 10 to 12 feet deep rushed over the south end of the wall, washing out parts of Tiffin Road. |
