Tony Jannus landing on the beach at Cedar Point after an exhibition flight. In 1914, in addition to his barnstorming contracts, Jannus calculated that he had carried 3,745 passengers. This Benoist Flying Boat was identical to that flown by Jannus from St. Petersburg to Tampa, Florida, on New Year's Day 1914. That event is recognized as the first scheduled airline flight in the United States.-
