dc.descriptionOne of the Cookes vacationing on Gibraltar Island in September 1906 photographed the aftermath of a ship's encounter with part of Rattlesnake Island. The STATE OF OHIO ran aground about 1:00 A.M. Pasengers - unharmed - were taken off the grounded ship by the CITY OF THE STRAITS. The photograph shows tug boats trying to re-float STATE OF OHIO.-
