dc.descriptionEight laborers pose with a flat car loaded with stone in a Kelleys Island quarry. The locomotive is in the upper right corner of the photograph. Kelleys Island Lime and Transport Company connected its quarries with a network of railroad track. Mechanization of operations greatly increased the amount of stone that could be quarried and shipped. Evenutally, Kelleys Island Lime and Transport Company became the largest producer of limestone in the world.-
