dc.descriptionBrothers Peter and John Ditcher established the Sandusky Fish Company on Kelleys Island about 1880. Lake Erie was, at that time, rich with white fish, black bass, muskellunge, and pike. Those catches went to fish markets. "Trash" fish - herring and sheepshead - were sent to fertilizer processors.-
