This paper reviews the present state of knowledge on Quaternary micromammals (Rodentia, Lagomorpha, lnsectivora and Chiroptera) from Spain, based on the information published to the date. The authors analyse the different associations recorded throughout the Quaternary, referring them to the main localities. In each major subdivision of the Quaternary two or more distinct associations have been recognized, each characterized by the presence of one or more rodent species. In the Lower Pleistocene and lower part of the Middle Pleistocene the associations are clearly defined, whereas from the top of the Middle Pleistocene to the Present the changes in the associations are more subtle, thus making it more difficult to establish their limits.
