| Description: | La tendencia existente en la reglamentación actual es la de adoptar normativas de carácter prestacional en las que se establecen objetivos sin exigir que éstos deban alcanzarse deuna forma determinada. En la aplicación de este tipo de reglamentaciones, el proyectista debe demostrar que, mediante la solución propuesta, se alcanzan o superan los niveles de protección prefijados. En el Código Técnico de la Edificación se ofrece el método del Tiempo equivalente de exposición al fuego como un método simplificado alternativoa las tablas de tiempos mínimos de resistencia exigidos a la estructura de un edificio. En este trabajo se aplica estemétodo a distintos ejemplos de edificios tipo con el fin de extraer conclusiones sobre su aplicabilidad Current tendency in regulation is that of adopting performance based codes where targets are established without demanding them to be reached in a certain way. In the application of this kind of codes, the designer must prove that, by means of his suggested solution, prearranged protection levels are reached or overcome. In the Spanish Technical Building Code the method of the Equivalent Time of Fire Exposure is given as a simplified alternative method to the prescriptive tables of minimal time of resistance demanded to the structure of a building.
